Thank goodness for great friends! They have been asking us to camp with them for years. Since our children are now teenagers with two planning their college days, we felt it was time to deliver on our promise. Big Oaks Family Campground provided the perfect setting. The abundance of trees provided perfect shade, while the sparkling clean pool and well-maintained bathhouses with four newly installed and private showers added to our enjoyment.

Driftstone on the Delaware is in a nice location, along the scenic Delaware River. Our experience in July, 2006 however was disappointing.

There are many additional charges beginning with children. Although the campground touts itself as a family camping spot, we were charged $9 per child. Strangely, six people are allowed to camp on a site, so apparently children do not qualify as "people".

Nice place to visit, but don’t count on your reservation. We do not want others to go through what we did. Please read the following before making your reservations. The following two letters include one that my wife and I submitted to Belknap after a terrible stay a few weekends ago, and the second letter was their response:

This campground was not well maintained when we were there, and nothing like the website representation. The pool was dirty, and grass was high and unmowed. The bathhouse was so poorly maintained that my four year old son did not want to sit on the toilet. We also noted the the campground rules are not […]

After spending the day visiting some of the attractions in New Hampshire’s Franconia Notch we decided to spend the night at one of the area KOAs.
The Littleton-Lisbon KOA is located on US Route 302, about 5 miles south of Littleton and I-93 exit 42. The campground is quite small (about 60 sites) and tucked between […]

Hidden Ridge is a new resort campground in Hopkins, Michigan, right off US Route 131 (exit 59). The park features full hook ups, paved interior roads, fishing in several ponds, a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, playground, and enormous log clubhouse. In the pool area are very, very clean private showers, restrooms and a laundry. The sites are all paved with fire rings and picnic tables. The entire campground is manicured and very well maintained. Each of the ponds has a fountain.

The management is extremely friendly and accomodating. They have planned activities every weekend for every age group (i.e. live Bluegrass music, ice cream sundaes by the pool, etc.).

Mississippi

Benchmark RV Park was a jewel of a park, and big-rig friendly! The campground is neat, clean, and well maintained with long wide level sites (75′ sites each with a 10′x40′ level concrete pad). The owner was very friendly and helpful. This is one of the nicest parks we have been to this summer. They […]

Texas

We visited Hill Country RV Resort for 3 days recently and thought it would be great from the info I had read about it. Well, I was wrong about this to an extent. While they had plenty of cool things, the park itself was somewhat run down and there were way too many full timers there for a campground. This is a great place if you are looking for somewhere to live or for an extended stay. There was also a lot of traffic in the area and nowhere to walk around.

Pennsylvania

Drummer Boy Campground - Gettsburg, PA

Drummer Boy is a beautiful park. It’s very large. There are 2 pools and rental golf carts. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. They also make reservations for Gettysburg battlefield tours and there is a shuttle that takes you to the downtown area. We went mid week and the groceries were very low… no milk or bread.

Wyoming

Grand Teton RV Park Resort was the worst campground we ever had the opportunity to stay at. The restrooms and laundry facilities were poorly maintained. The actual campsite we had was a big dissapointment. Grass and gravel would have been nice, instead we were camping on un-level dirt. To make matters worse, we feel that this campground was over-priced for what we got. We paid over $55 per night for a 12′ pop-up.
