Campground Reviews for June, 2006
Running Bear Camping Area - Ascutney, VT
Running Bear is an small campground located in central Vermont near the Connecticut River. It appears to be an older campground and most of the facilities reflect that. Interior roads are gravel and the sites are on the small side. I wouldn’t recommend thaing a larger RV here, the roads and sites are simply too […]
Drummer Boy Camping Resort - Gettysburg, PA
Drummer Boy Resort is a very well-maintained campground with full facilities including fishing pond, snack bar, laundry, etc. The sites are large and well-shaded in most cases, although somewhat close together. The restrooms were clean and modern, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Rates were somewhat pricey but it is located in Gettysburg, a prime tourist area. One caution to tent trailer campers… avoid sites 1 thru 70 because of excessive highway noise. We camped in a motorhome, so were not particularly bothered by the passing traffic. Other tenting sites should be OK.
Green Acres Camping Resort - Williamston, NC
When you need a break from I-95, here is a great place. It’s a little off the highway from Rocky Mount but absolutely worth the detour. With sites that cater to tents, pop-ups, trailers, and the biggest Class A, this place is great.
Green Acres is family operated and they live on-site. All the family members work hard to maintain the expansive property. The camp store has all the basics and the game room is well equipped to entertain the young. There are two clean swimming pools and a nice pond that offers fishing and paddling.
Indian Rock Resort - Jackson, NJ
Indian Rock Resort is located in Central New Jersey, close to Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor and Wild Safari Park. We stayed Memorial Day weekend and had a great time.
The campground is clean and well maintained. You can tell that the restrooms were remodeled along with the lodge, pool and mini golf. There are […]
