Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is located just outside of Live Oak, Florida. What a disappointment it was to camp there over the 2006 Memorial Day weekend. We had really bad power problems. Most of the time our voltage meter in our camper was reading way below 100 volts. A/C units were contently tripping […]

If you don’t have kids don’t stay here. These were the worst campground sites ever… no grass only weeds and plenty of ants. Our dogs were miserable. The WiFi is VERY undependable. We requested a site with cable and when checked in and set up were told that site had no cable. We had no […]

We were disappointed in the whole experience at this Yogi Bear campground in Goodfield, Illinois.
There was one bathroom with 2 stalls and 3 showers for the whole campground, there had to be over 150 sites. The bathrooms were very outdated and dirty. The pool was so tiny for a campground of that size. We could […]

We spent our Memorial Day Weekend camping at Camping in the Smokies near Gatlinburg, TN. In the 29 years of camping, we have never had as bad of an experience as we had at this campground.

This campground is old, outdated and small. The amenities such as the pool, bath house and laundry room (which was not enclosed) were small and outdated too. Most of the sites did not have more than 10 feet of grass area between the campsites. So you get to know your neighbors real well. However, what wasn’t small was the number of insects (especially gnats and mosquitoes)!

We just spent our first day on the lake at W Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir in Wilkesboro. I was very disappointed in the area. We launched our boat to make sure everything was running good and we left our Big Bertha Tube in the back of our pickup truck, we were going to return and pick it up. While we were out for this short trip someone stole the tube from the bed of our truck. We were parked at the Skyline Marina.

OK, while walking around with the dogs, a guy from Texas, in a nice Class A (maybe a Monaco) with a reasonably sized tow vehicle gave me a couple of complaints about this KOA campground: The road in (off 11) is a little winding and tight for big rigs (there was little to no traffic […]

Knoxville East KOA - Kodak, TN

When you approach Knoxville East KOA campground, engage your four-wheel drive. Just kidding, but the truth is the gravel driveway is loose, the hill is a bit steep, and there are numerous washouts. I wouldn’t bring my hundred grand-plus land yacht up here until they get some pavement in. This is the main weakness here. There are deluxe sites, but for some reason the team chose to get a basic one tonight. The regular sites are mostly level and all shaded with mature trees.

Wytheville KOA - Wytheville, VA

Wytheville KOA is your regular old KOA… clean, predictable clientele, and a friendly staff. Some poison ivy, so watch when you’re walking dogs or if the kids get into the underbrush.
The pull-throughs are a bit short (and not exactly contractor-level) but can easily accomodate 30 and above feet. Also, there are two clean, fenced-in pens: […]

Helpful is the first word that comes to mind for this nice, woodsy KOA campground (every site has trees). The bumps on I-40 are so bad (keep this in mind when planning routes) that our black water PVC pipe came loose from its hook to the frame, and I had to get out and do […]

Arkansas

Little Rock North KOA - Little Rock North, AR

This is a really nice KOA campground that people could stay at for awhile. It’s convenient to I-40 (Exit 148), and about ten miles from Little Rock. They have a pool, hot tub and sauna (both inside a clean little house adjacent to the pool), good cable and wifi (2 bucks extra). We got here […]
