Campground Reviews for April, 2006
Chesapeake Campground - Chesapeake, VA
I’m not trying to complain, but I went camping this weekend to Chesapeake Campground in Chesapeake, Virginia. I went here instead of a closer campground to my house (Hampton Lodge in Coinjock, NC) because Woodall’s rated this campground higher.
I found this to be nothing close to true. I must say the bathrooms were well maintained, […]
Candy Hill Campground - Winchester, VA
People who checked us in at Candy Hill Campground were very unfriendly, in no way helpful. They certainly did not make us feel welcome. If we had known, we would not have chosen this campground. The man who helped us get into our parking spot was helpful and we appreciated that. The first person you […]
Pioneer Trails RV Resort - Anacortes, WA
If being connected to the internet is very important to you, you may not want to stay at Pioneer Trails RV Resort. The wireless is horrible. The backup is a modem port in the store, available only when the store is open. On the other hand, if you don’t need the internet, this place is great. Trees all around. Very quiet. Close to town. Nice wide spots.
Deception Pass State Park - Whidbey Island, WA
I showed up at Deception Pass State Park on a Saturday in April, and managed to get an electrical site. However, I’m sure once it’s summer, you need reservations. If you reserve online, you are charged a "reservation fee." Excuse me, how does this "encourage" us to use the web?
Spots 1-78 are electrical, and they even have 30/50 hookups! No cable, but I got decent reception on the antena. I had spot number 40 and it was relatively level, despite being a dirt campground in the trees.
Seattle/Tacoma KOA - Kent, WA
I stayed at the Seattle/Tacoma KOA two nights in April 2006. Not a bad campground, but kind of expensive. There are trees at the sites, and the sites are kind of close together. The trees make it impossible to put your awning out. However, my cat was entertained by watching the squirrels. Nice playground for kids.
