Campground Reviews for February, 2006
Brown Mountain Beach Resort – Lenoir, NC
I have visited Brown Mountain Beach several times. I found this to be one of the most tranquil places left on the east coast. The facilites are very clean, and the staff is the best. The water is so clean in the river that you can drink it directly. I sat out in the middle [...]
Seven Maples Campground – Hancock, NH
We are seasonal campers at Seven Maples in Hancock,N.H. It is located in New Hampshire’s Monadnock Region. The owners are the best… they really care about their campers. We have only had them for one season but they have already won the hearts of all of us. The grounds are nice and the camp store has just about anything you would need at a price you can afford if you forget something at home. They have a nice pool and a pond that can be used for small rafts and also swimming.
Fidalgo Bay Resort – Anacortes, WA
I stayed at Fidalgo Bay Resort in May 2005. At the time, they didn’t charge deposits. However, the web site indicates they now require full payment at the time of booking. Not Good! The waterfront sites are decent, if you want to pay the price. On the other hand, "oceanfront" overlooks a smelly bog. Good Wi-Fi! When I initially booked my May 2005 reservation and asked for "waterfront," I had a 24 foot RV and I was told "we like to give those spots to big rigs." I held my ground and got a waterfront.
Columbia River RV Park – Portland, OR
Columbia River RV Park is located on 13th Avenue in Portland, Oregon. Use this campground ONLY for an overnight stay. They claim to have wireless, but the wireless is with some no name company, and you have to set up an account. I was there in July 2005 and it was $4.95 for one night. There were weekly and monthly rates, too for the wireless. There is also a modem hookup in the exercise room.
