Campground Reviews for September, 2005
Inlet View Waterfront Family Campground - Chincoteague, VA
If you are taking your family camping this is not the place to go. I felt I was in Crystal Lake from Friday the 13th. It appeared that there were people camping in their trailers. But you never saw anyone or heard anyone.
There was food, soda, beer and liquor bottles on tables by tents that were set up. But all day and all night no one was around. Besides the fact that there was broken liquor bottles and beer bottles all over the campground. Literally all over.
Villages at Turning Stone RV Park - Verona, NY
The Villages at Turning Stone is a first rate camping facility located conveniently off the New York State Thruway in Verona, NY. The campground is operated by the Onieda Nation and is considered an adjunct of their Turning Stone Casino. Visitors have the choice of using a free shuttle from their site to […]
Lake George Escape Camping Resort - Lake George, NY
Lake George Escape, at the end of the season, is better than at the beginning. We stayed there in mid September and had no mosquito problems. The sites are large, well kept, wooded, and with enough greenery between sites to not make you feel like your neighbors were watching every thing you were doing.
Even though […]
Anvil Campground - Williamsburg, VA
Beware of the trains! Anvil is a very conveniently located campground to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens - that is about its only plus. The sites are quite small, the hookups are for the most part getting old and tired and the condition of the pool and bathroom/showers was marginal.
However, the most distressing aspect of […]
Holiday Acres Camping Resort - North Scituate, RI
Holiday Acres is a good size campground with well over 200 sites, about half of which are full hook-ups on 400 acres. The facilities were clean and well maintained, however most are in need of upgrading.
Amenities include lake swimming, fishing, boating, adult and teen halls, safari camping, a petting zoo, playground, minigolf, scheduled meals and […]
Kissimmee/Orlando KOA - Kissimmee, FL
The Kissimee/Orlando KOA is is a beautiful campground! It’s also fairly new (only about 2 years old). There use to be an old KOA in this location but it was sold and a new Sam’s Club was built on the site.
This new campground was built just to the south of the old one, right on […]
Magic Springs KOA - Hot Springs, AR
Magic Springs KOA has everything the family camper looks for. The park has plenty of large, well shaded campsites. The property and facilities are clean and well maintained. There are lots of activities for the kids (arranged by the staff). All sites have patios, along with water, electricity (50-amp service), sewer and cable. They also have Kamping Kabins, Kottages and Lodges, meeting facilities, bunkhouse lodging and Kamping Kitchens.
Kamp Komfort RV Park & Campground - Carlock, IL
Kamp Komfort RV Park is located in the town of Carlock, near Bloomington and Peoria. The campground is very clean and quiet. There are many features such as an in-ground pool, a large pavilion, a play area for children, a small store and a dog walk area.
This campground has the cleanest restrooms I have ever […]
Alpen Rose RV Resort - Durango, CO
Alpen Rose RV Resort is a very nice park. Beware of the manager as he is very unpredictable! Great bunch of workcampers!
Alps Family Campground - Averill Park, NY
For a quiet night in a secluded atmosphere, Alps Family Campground won my heart. The grounds are clean and nicely landscaped, facilities are clean and reasonably modern, and the campstore is well stocked with snacks, groceries, and camping supplies.
Most of the sites seemed to be seasonal renters, but a good selection of sites are reserved […]
