Campground Reviews for July, 2005
Lakeside Campground - Windsor, NY
We had an excellent camping experience at Lakeside Campground. The owners are amazing. The park is wheelchair friendly, and they have many planned events. There is a large lake for swimming and fishing.
Amenities include boat rentals and free mini train rides. This is a great campground for families of all types. Their website can […]
Wilderness Lake Campground & Resort - Willington CT
Wilderness Lake is a nice campground if you are looking for peace and quite. They do not have any planned activities on non-holiday weekends. The Playgound is newer but kids were bored with it qucikly. They have no sewer hookups, but they do have a dumping station. Electric and rusty water hookups available.
There is a […]
Brattleboro North KOA - Brattleboro, VT
Brattleboro North KOA is located on US Route 5 about 3 miles north of the town of Brattleboro, Vermont. It is a very easy on or off of Intersate 91 either north or southbound.
This campground is perhaps one of the cleanest and best kept KOAs we have ever visited. The sites are well-spaced, hookups are […]
Ponchos Pond RV Park - Ludington, MI
Ponchos Pond RV Park is a very clean and family oriented campground. The campground has some pull through and concrete sites. They also have buddy sites available for RVers who want to be together. There are three pools: one indoor pool and spa, one family outdoor and one adult only outdoor.
Ponchos has a fishing pond in the middle of the park that is great for young kids. Also the cable TV has a channel with closed circuit TV so you can see the different areas of the park.
Mountaindale Campground & Cabins - Colorado Springs, CO
A few miles out of Colorado Springs is the most wonderful RV Park! It is called Mountaindale RV Park & Cabin Resort.
Being out of town, it is quiet & gorgeous. The deer come right between the RVs. The cottontail bunnies hop around your back door.
Other than the wildlife, this park offers internet access, laundry facilities, […]
Association Island RV Resort - Henderson Harbor, NY
At first site this campground seems very nice. After a few days here we decided that the months reservations we made here should be cut short because of unfriendly staff, owners and nothing on the calendar to do.
There was no air conditioning in the nice little bar, laundry roon, bath house. It is July and […]
Hide-A-Way Lakes - Yorkville, IL
Hide-A-Way Lakes is a fairly large campground in Yorkville, Illinois. There was a pretty fishing lake, but you could hardly see it for all the rusted-out, junky seasonal campers lined up along the banks. The pull-through camping area we were directed to was basically a field, and we had no fire pit. I could go on, but suffice it to say it was a disappointment.

Point Sebago Resort - Casco, ME
We visited Point Sebago Resort last fall after viewing their video brochure. The campground is located on the shores of Sebago Lake, Southern Maine’s largest lake. The property is huge… 775 acres. It’s a great setting and they have lots of amenities, activities and entertainment options.
Campsites were a little on the small side and our site was in need of some “housekeeping” once we arrived. There seemed to be a large number of seasonal campers and time share types, which takes away from our vacation experience. Oh well, we may be seasonal campers some day so I shouldn’t complain.

Canandaigua / Rochester KOA - Farmington, NY
Great family campground with plenty to do for the kids! Conveniently located about 5 miles from I-90, exit 44 (NY Thruway), it’s a nice location in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes Region.
The campground is clean and nicely maintained with lots of mowed lawn areas and a very nice lake. Interior roads are gravel […]
